today’s recruitment industry looking for?

The answer is proactive. What does proactive mean? Who are recognized as proactive employees? Are you being proactive in the workplace? Why should one be proactive? Here are the answers for your queries.

Proactive employees are the real achievers. They don’t wait for things to happen. They make them happen. They are not like robots who wait for the instruction to do something. Being proactive means anticipating problems in advance and seeking new solutions for them. To be proactive you need to be clear about your goals in life and need to step out to achieve these goals. Therefore the company appreciates such employees and are valuables for the organization. They are actively working with the vision for the future. The way of thinking is what matters.

Sometimes we need to be flexible and adaptable in order to adjust with the rapidly changing environment. There are times when long-term plans should be postponed in order to meet the urgent needs and accomplish the short-term plans, simultaneously. Also there are inevitable roadblocks which cannot be abstained by even the proactive employees. However, being pro-activity is advantageous as it minimizes the roadblocks in the path of growth of the company.

Here are the abilities beneficial for the growth of the organization that can be developed by being proactive.

recruitment1. Ability to forecast or predictability:
Proactive employees learn to anticipate problems and events in advance. They understand and recognize the regular routines and daily practices in your business. Since they anticipate problems prior to their occurrence, they keep solutions ready to tackle with those problems efficiently without disturbing the production or daily routine. Recruiters tend to hire proactive candidates who are smart enough to deal with situations at their workplace and exuberant to give their best for the company. If the organization is running smooth, use your creativity and logic for future developments. Think of innovative deals for upcoming events that could profit two folds to the organization.

recruitment2. Ability to make decisions:
Proactive employees are always on their toes. They plan for the future. They bring the future into the present by anticipating long-term consequences. They make implementable decisions so that they soon arrive to final conclusion. Firstly, list out all the possible alternatives and then choose the best alternative among them. This will help you with accurate decisions and will hence reduce the risk to the company. But be accountable and stand behind your decisions.

3. Ability to perform:
We have friends, family, relatives, well-wishers, etc. to support us but we are the ones who are going to perform in actual. They cannot succeed for us. Therefore take ownership of your performance and hold yourself accountable. Being proactive means you have taken thoughtful steps to choose the appropriate path.

4. Ability to be focused:
recruitmentFocusing on the things that are out of your control is a waste of time. One should focus on what is going to give you desired outcome. To learn more about this, read my blog “Don’t boil the ocean”. Proactive employees don’t waste their time in impossible events. Their traits also include good time management skills. They are efficient in problem solving along with effective time and stress management skills. Therefore the most appropriate way to handle a problem is to focus on finding a solution.

recruitment5. Ability to achieve your goals:
Proactive employees have simple and effective approach for achieving goals. Initially set your goal then work for it to establish metrics to track and then evaluate it. For this to happen, your goal should be clearly defined. If you are working in a team, it is your responsibility to make them clear with the objectives and the mission. Being proactive, you should be active participant and should get involved in the process. Remember that you have the ability to influence the actions of others. Engage with them.

6. Ability to find the right people:
It is very important to find and keep right people around you. You cannot spend time with lazy people the entire day. They might pull you down slowly and you may realize it later on and then you would be helpless. Surrounding yourself with driven and effective mates is a proven way to help you succeed. It is you who is going to choose between the driven people and people who will take you down. At the same time, be an excellent motivator to keep them on track.

Being successful or being proactive is not about expecting the right break to come your way. It is about taking steps in a positive forward trajectory improving yourself every day. To hit your goal, make a blueprint and set out milestones for yourself. If you want to get ahead in today’s workplace, you have to sharpen your skills and make things happen.

GOOD LUCK!

8 things to keep in mind while sitting for the interview 1. Make sure that your introduction is impressive: In the interview , most probably the first question asked is usually “Tell me about yourself.” Take 1-2 minutes to answer this question. You should include about your qualifications, past experiences, strengths and interests related to work, etc. Don’t repeat what is already written in the resume. The recruiter wants to hear something apart from that. Your introduction is the first impression on interviewer , therefore it should grab his attention so that he takes interest in whatever you say. If he asks you speak more, then he might be testing your communication skills so you can include about your parents and their profession, siblings and other family members. Also, you can speak more about your professional experience and your style of working. 2. Make use of felicitous verbal communication: Sometimes the interviewer might appear warm and friendly to you

Don’t Boil the Ocean Though the notion of boiling the ocean is dubious, the business professionals often insist on using this phrase but t he phrase should be used carefully as its meaning in the workplace is quite vague. It is usually used in group settings to focus on an out-of-control situation. Meaning of the phrase: To boil the ocean means to try hard to do or get something. It is the utilization of available resources to the point of detriment. It generally means to go overboard by making a task unnecessarily difficult.
